New Plinth for Empire 498 turntables

Description

This is a brand new plinth for Empire 498 turntables. The 498 turntable uses a smaller plinth than the 208, 298, and 398 turntables. The 498 plinth is smaller and as are its mounting brackets and the mounting brackets are in different locations. This plinth is made as a direct copy of the original. The top edges are banded with solid American walnut and thick 1/16? American walnut veneer is used. The plinth is finished with 8 coats of varnish oil and a final coating of wax.
The aluminum brackets are an exact copy of the originals as well so attachment is done with wing-nuts as was done by Empire. 4 rubber feet are mounted on the bottom of the plinth; these feet are bigger than the originals to allow for a broader range of cable options to be used. I decided to make the jigs to produce these because I have an empire 498 turntable whose plinth is too ugly to be saved. These plinths are a little tricky to fabricate because of all the angles. The turntable pictured is not included only the plinth.
