Antique 1900s Austrian Prayer Book /w Sterling Silver Ornaments on Blue Velvet
This stunning prayer book was made around the 1900s in Austria. It features a masterfully hand crafted royal blue velvet cover with finely driven ornate silver applications, an incredibly ornate cover monogram, and a beautiful silver clasp. The book itself is in great condition with gilt pages and includes some personal newspaper clippings and Christian prayer cards. The text is printed in old Gothic German script.
This great piece is in very good antique condition with minor loss to the velvet on the front cover and the spine and a small missing corner on one of the silver applications.
This rare and unusual piece measures 6 1/4" long x 4 1/4" wide x 1" thick
. No visible hallmarks but tested for at least 800 silver.
